The Middle School Guidance Counselor will be responsible for providing comprehensive support to our scholars in both their academic, behavioral, and social-emotional development. In this role you would: - Provide academic counseling and guidance to scholars to help them set and achieve academic goals. - Collaborate with teachers and administrators to identify scholars who may be struggling academically and develop intervention plans to support their success. - Conduct workshops and seminars to foster healthy relationships and a positive culture; enhance scholars' study skills, time management, and organizational abilities. - Offer individual and group counseling sessions to address scholars' social and emotional needs as well as behavioral issues. - Support middle school coordinator in conducting family meetings to discuss academic progress, behavioral concerns, and strategies for supporting scholar success. - Act as a liaison between the school and families to ensure effective communication and partnership in supporting scholars' needs. - Assist families in understanding and navigating the Individualized Education Program (IEP) process for scholars with special education needs. - Provide resources and referrals to community services and organizations that can support families in addressing various challenges.
